POTSDAM, NY- SUNY Potsdam men’s soccer team enjoyed a big 6-0 win over SUNY Canton in Wednesday night's home opener.
Leading the Bears in scoring was Ron Burd (Branchport/Penn Yan) with two. Billy Sahler (Greenwood Lake/George F. Baker), Zack LaDue (Cohoes/Cohoes), Jon Reeves (Macedon/Pal-Mac), and Dylan Reed (Ogdensburg/Ogdensburg) also scored goals.
Sahler scored Potsdam’s first goal of the night on a pass from Victor Colasacco (Oceanside/Oceanside) and headed it in. Following a direct kick, LaDue took the blocked shot from Canton’s defense and put it in for the Bears second goal of the game.
Joseph Glackin (Latham/Shaker) played 79:45 and made one save. Colin MacIver (Westport/Westport) came in for 10:15 and made two saves. Eamon Case (Plattsburgh/Plattsburgh) had six saves for Canton.
Potsdam dominated the game in shots with a 23-6 advantage.
The Bears head on the road to take on Keuka this Saturday at 2 pm.
