POTSDAM, NY- Conor Harold (St. Catherine’s ONT/Governor Simcoe) scored just 24 seconds into the game and the defense held up as the men’s soccer team defeated Cortland 2-0 on Friday afternoon. It is the Bears first victory over the Red Dragons in five years.

Harold dribbled past Cortland goalkeeper Steve Axtell and the ball rolled into the net to give the Bears an early lead. The game would remain 1-0 until late in the second half when Matt Rudd (Rodman/South Jefferson) shot over Axtell’s head to put Potsdam up 2-0.

Cortland led in shots 11-4 but only had three shots on goal. Bears goalkeeper Joseph Glackin (Latham/Shaker) made three saves. Axtell had one save for Cortland.
