A Pillar of Light

After days of clouds and gloom, the skies parted just before sunset giving a brief but spectacular burst of light. I believe the term is a "sun pillar". It was worth a run into the field for the pictures as it disappeared within minutes. It was taken north of Alexandria Bay. Hope you enjoy the picture taken by Terry Side.

This was an outstanding photograph. Really captures a lot. I love the color and the title. This photo caught my eye first on the page out of the other photographs. Nicely done!
