1000 Islands Girls Team Wins Gold!

The Thousand Islands Girls Bantam Hockey Team took home Gold Medals at the 31st Annual Toronto Leaside Girls Hockey Tournament held on March 12, 13 and 14th, 2010. The championship game was a 1-1 tie after three periods and a five minute overtime period. In the shootout, Jessica Prance scored one goal and then Miranda Kolb scored the winning goal for Thousand Islands. Kayla McCabe, the Thousand Islands goalie, stopped both shootout shooters from the Leaside Wildcats. Kayla McCabe was also chosen as the MVP for the Thousand Islands Girls team. The team is made up of girls 14 years old and under from Clayton, Watertown, Dexter and other surrounding villages.

Congratulations Kayla!!!!! What an awesome goalie you still are! Sounds like the team is awesome too! Why don't you come up to Alaska and play hockey?
