SUNY Canton 358 Modified Series

For the several years SUNY Canton has sponsored a series for the Street Stock and Sportsman Division. This year, the college has added the 358 Modified Division and will sponsor the SUNY Canton 358 Modified Series in 2010. The first of 6 races in the series will begin this coming Sunday afternoon, and with a Mr. DIRTcar 358 Modified series event just one day earlier, there will be plenty of cars on hand to battle for the $1500 check that will go to the winner.

The inaugural race will begin Sunday afternoon, starting at 1:00PM at Chapman’s Can Am Motorsports Park. The series will resume on May 28th for a 25 lap $1200 to win feature. The series will carry over into June as the summer begins to heat up so will the SUNY Canton 358 Series with back to back events on June 11th and June 18th, both will be 25 lap $1200 to win events. The biggest event of the series will take place on Monday night, July 12th, as $2000 will be up for grabs as well as double points for this 35 lap classic. This race will be part of the SUNY Canton Summer Sizzler, and the evening will include the first ever appearance of the O’Reilly All Stars 410 Sprint Car Series. The SUNY Canton 358 Series will conclude on August 20th with a 25 lap $1200 to win event, and the first ever SUNY Canton 358 Modified Champion will be crowned.

“We have some big races lined up for the 358 Modifieds and we can thank Mike Perry and his staff at SUNY Canton for helping to put all of this together. Not only do we have big money up for grabs each race during this series, they have also contributed to a fantastic point fund set up for the winner of the series at the end of the season”, says Chapman’s Can Am Motorsports Park General Manager Chip Burdick.

Not only will the Series champion receive a nice cash bonus at the year end banquet, the winner will also receive a guaranteed starting spot in the October 6th Mr. DIRTcar 358 Modified Series 75 lap $4000 to win event, as well as truck load of prizes worth over $1000. Also, the series champion will receive a free website designed and maintained for one full year courtesy of Finish Line Web Design.

In addition to the prizes listed above, the top three drivers in the series will all receive a season pit pass for the 2011 racing season from Chapman’s Can Am Motorsports Park.
