Celebrity Chefs' Event - FRIDAY May 7th

The Annual Celebrity Chefs’ Event will be held on Friday, May 7th and offer guests a gala River evening including fabulous food, entertainment and some unique silent auction items.
The Celebrity Chefs’ Event features recipes from some of the area’s most noteworthy kitchens. This year’s delectable offerings come from the recipe files of Jenna and Harry Cleaves, Rebecca Hopfinger, Bridget-ann Hart, Gail and Brent Richardson, and Denise and Ed Robertson. Their offerings will be prepared by Boo Wells from The Farmhouse Kitchen, who will also add some of her own creations to the menu. Desserts will be provided by Bella’s of Clayton.
One of the evening’s highlights will be a silent auction of some wonderful items donated by local individuals and businesses. The 2010 auction will include a framed, limited-edition print by Sylvie Kring entitled Spring Dance, a Maine vacation getaway package, a St. Lawrence River cruise for four, including refreshments, hosted by Joan and Ted White of Watertown, a contemporary sculpture by Eric Zabriskie, a weekend get-away in Maine donated by US Martin's Point/USFHP,, collectible duck decoys donated by Dr, Arthur Peckham, a handmade quilt by Claudia Whitmire, a pampering basket from the River Wellness Center, and a summer fun basket donated by Diane Recupero.
An auction item of particular note will be a Shellback sailing dinghy built and donated by Crescent Yacht Club’s Shellback Fleet. The small wooden boat, which can be rowed, sculled or sailed, is valued at over $6,000 and proceeds from this item will be shared between the Children’s Clinic and the CYC Shellback Fleet. Pre-bids for the Shellback will be accepted until Thursday, May 6th at 5:00 pm and may be made by emailing Jennifer Hodge at jhodge@childrens-clinic.org, or by calling (315) 782-9450 during business hours and speaking with Jennifer directly. Individuals may be the high bidder for the Shellback sailing dinghy even if they are not able to attend the event. More information on this bidding process and on the other items available is available at North Country Children’s Clinic’s website - www.childrens-clinic.org.
The cost of the evening is $75 per person. Tickets are available by calling North Country Children’s Clinic at 782-9450. Proceeds will help support medical and dental care for children whose families are uninsured or underinsured and cannot afford to pay the full cost of their care. Last year North Country Children’s Clinic provided services to more than 46,000 children and families across the North Country in its Pediatric Medical office in Watertown, Dental Offices in Watertown, Ogdensburg and Lowville, WIC programs in Jefferson, Lewis, Franklin and St. Lawrence Counties, School-Based Health Programs in the Watertown and South Jefferson Central Schools, and Facilitated Enrollment Programs.
