Adjusting to the midfield quite nicely, freshman Matt McCabe (Syracuse, NY) of the Clarkson University Men's Lacrosse team earned Liberty League Rookie of the Week honors for the second straight seven-day stretch on Monday.
McCabe, who shared the honor with a goaltender from St. Lawrence, scored seven points over two games this past week. Against cross-town rival Potsdam State, McCabe assisted on six of Clarkson's 13 goals. Versus 15th-ranked Rensselaer, McCabe scored one of Clarkson's two goals in the contest.
McCabe, who has played at both attack and midfield this season, leads Clarkson with 24 points overall, scoring 10 goals and 14 assists. His 14 assists rank third in the conference, and are just two off the league pace.
