A second straight complete-game effort helped freshman Bryan Chudy (Goshen, NY) of the Clarkson University Baseball team gain Liberty League Rookie of the Week honors for the second straight time on Monday.
Chudy, who shared the honor with another player from Union, went seven innings for his second straight complete game, giving up nine hits and two walks while striking out four against Vassar College, a game which Clarkson won 6-2.
Chudy ranks ninth in the conference in earned run average (2.66 ERA) among qualifying pitchers and is far and away the league leader in runners picked off. Chudy's ridiculous move has allowed him to erase seven runners. Chudy took care of three baserunners against Vassar in the first two innings on Sunday. The Brewers didn't attempt to steal for the remainder of the game.
