MASSENA, NY--New York State Champion Chad Campeau from Raymondville, NY will be defending his title against Golden Gloves Champion Derrick Evans from Utica, NY at The Brawl in the Mall this Saturday, July 3, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. in the St. Lawrence Centre Mall Arena. The fight card features the best amateur boxers from New York State and Canada, including Quebec Light Weight Champion Tony Luis, 12-year-old protégé Rorohronhakies, and fierce female contender Jean Gibson.
Tickets are on sale at Standing Rock Boxing Club (Massena), Seaway Mini-Mart (Massena), St. Lawrence Centre Mall and Arena (Massena), 101.5 The Fox (Massena), 97.3 CKON Radio (Akwesasne), Wild Bills (Akwesasne), and Nina Denny Public Relations (Ogdensburg). General tickets $12, $15 at the door; Floor $20, $25 at the door; VIP $50.
A percentage of ticket sales will benefit the Akwesasne Freedom School, which helps to preserve the Mohawk culture and language.
Doors open at 4:00 pm with a special muscial performance by Stone Axis at 4:30 pm, and the event at 5:00 pm. The mall's fireworks spectacular will follow the event
