MY dads name is David Egan. He was born and raised in Elmira, New York, and when he graduated, joined the Air Force. He became a Fire Fighter, and was involved in Desert Storm. As a family, we've been through a lot, moved a good amount of times, but we've stuck together, through thick and thin. He now works on Fort Drum. My dad has gone through a lot of hard times in his lifetime, and it amazes me that after everything, he still loves to go out and help people everyday, whether it be the occasional elderly person needing handy work done, or saving a small boy who gets in a car accident, hes there. Whenever that siren goes off, he risks his life to go and help someone, and i am truly admirable. I don't tell my dad enough how much i care, and look up to him, and this is the only way i know how. If he doesn't win, then that's okay, because either way, my father will get on that truck when the bell rings, and he'll go help someone. He doesn't need the recognition of what he does for a living to keep hm going, the job is satisfying enough. My dad works 24 hours on and 24 hours off, which means for 24 hours he stays at the fire station, waiting for that call, but the other 24 hours, hes home with us. He makes time to spend with my family, even if hes tired. I don't tell him this very often, but i look up to him tremendously, and if i become have the person that he is, ill be okay. Ill be one of the lucky ones.
