PA man accused of picking up border-crossers In St. Lawrence County

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WWNY) - A Philadelphia, Pennsylvania man was charged in a federal court in Syracuse with transporting two people who were in the United States illegally.
Federal authorities say 30 year old Jaswinder Singh was paid $2,200 for allegedly transporting the people from near the Canadian border in St. Lawrence County.
A Border Patrol agent stopped Singh's vehicle after a Border Patrol helicopter spotted people entering it after they crossed the St. Lawrence River from Canada.
Singh faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a fine up to $250,000.
