Person of interest in bank robbery apprehended in West Carthage

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - Oneida County's sheriff confirms that a person of interest in a bank robbery earlier this month was picked up in the north country Friday morning.
Sheriff Rob Maciol confirmed to 7 News that a person of interest was apprehended in West Carthage in connection with a May 8 bank robbery in Oriskany Falls.
The Berkshire Bank was robbed, possibly at gunpoint, shortly after 11 a.m. on May 8.
In release sent out at the time, Maciol said that a white male in his 50s wearing a cowboy hat entered the bank, displayed what appeared to be a handgun, and demanded money.
The suspect fled on foot with an undetermined amount of money.
The name of the person apprehended has not been released.
