WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - There's a BSA troop for girls in Canton.

Michael Terrell is leader of Cub Scout Pack 11, which has both boys and girls, but there was no troop for girls to go when they completed the Cub Scout program.

That's where Rachel Bender comes in. She's scoutmaster of the newly formed Troop 1100, which is for girls ages 11 through 17, whether they were a Cub Scout or not.

Watch the video for their interview on 7 News This Morning.

The troop meets from 4 to 5 p.m. on Sundays at the Canton United Methodist Church.
