Matthew Pelc: wounded in battle

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - U.S. Marines Lance Cpl. Matthew Pelc’s tour of Afghanistan ended when his unit took small arms fire while on patrol.

Matthew was hit by a sniper. A Black Hawk medical helicopter landed under heavy fire.

He was patched up quickly and airlifted away from battle.

That’s when he knew he was going home.
