LEYDEN, N.Y. (WWNY) - A Boonville man is accused of strangling a woman and hitting her with a cell phone.

Lewis County sheriff’s deputies say 28 year old Brian Coe allegedly hit and strangled the woman in his town of Leyden home early Monday morning.

The woman and two children were able to leave the home a short time later and the incident was reported the next morning.

Coe was arrested Tuesday and charged with second-degree assault, second-degree strangulation, and first-degree unlawful imprisonment, all felonies. He was also charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and fourth-degree criminal possession of weapon.

He was arraigned in Leyden town court and sent to jail on a probation warrant.
