OGDENSBURG, N.Y. (WWNY) - Ogdensburg police say they found two active one-pot meth labs when they raided a New York Avenue apartment Thursday afternoon.

Police say 39 year old Dwain Mashaw and 32 year old Chelsey Sweeney, who both live in apartment 1 at 620 New York Avenue, were both charged with making meth.

Mashaw was charged with second-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine due to a previous meth conviction and Sweeney was charged with third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine.

Mashaw, who police said is a parole absconder, was arraigned in Ogdensburg city court and sent to jail without bail.

Sweeney was arraigned on the meth charge and a bench warrant for a probation violation. She was jailed on a total of $600 bail.

A third person, 58 year old Darlene Mashaw, who also lives in the same apartment, was charged with failure to appear in court earlier this year on her own meth-making charge. She was arraigned and held on $750 bail.

Police say they are continuing to investigate and could make more arrests.

They were assisted by the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Parole, the county’s Drug Task Force, the Ogdensburg Fire Department, state police, and the state police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team.
