TOWN OF WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - When graduating, high school seniors look for work. However, on Monday, work came to them in Watertown.

The Jefferson-Lewis BOCES program is holding a first-ever recruitment week.

Monday was “Construction Day,” where a number of industry employers came in looking to fill part-time, full-time and apprenticeship positions.

Students walk away with job options.

“It gives us the options and the opportunities to see if we’re quite interested in what they’re doing, and if our training adds up to what they’re trying to find.” said Logan Mount-Ramirez, a South Jefferson senior.

“There is a big demand for workers in the trades industry right now,” said Nathan Lehman, communications coordinator for Jefferson-Lewis BOCES.

The event continues through this week at Jefferson and Glenfield BOCES locations.
