BROWNVILLE, N.Y. (WWNY) - The public will soon be able to see more of a hidden gem.

The Downybrook Nature Reserve in Brownville lets people see the sights and travel the trails.

The 184-acre reserve is being revitalized after receiving $50,000 in grant money.

OBI Land Trust, a team of conservation volunteers, was gifted the land in 2015 and now is able to afford information kiosks, picnic tables, benches, an observation deck, a new parking lot, and do several other renovations.

“We’re very excited about it because not only will we be able to make some fixes, but we will also be able to make some improvements to make the experience much more enjoyable for the public,” said Rosanne Weir, member of the OBI Land Trust Board of Directors.

Volunteers hope the improvements entice more people to visit.
