Alleged graffiti painter accused of causing accident while fleeing deputies

NORWOOD, N.Y. (WWNY) - A Norwood man allegedly caused a vehicle to crash into a home when he was fleeing deputies on foot after spraying graffiti on two Norwood buildings.

St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies say 22 year old Zakaria Labarge spray-painted graffiti on a building on South Main Street and on another on Mechanic Street.

Deputies say Labarge ran into the path of a vehicle while trying to flee. The vehicle crashed into a house after it swerved to miss him.

Labarge was charged with disorderly conduct and two counts of making graffiti.

He was issued tickets and will appear in Potsdam town court at a later date.
