WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - The Watertown Rapids exhibition game against Academie Baseball Canada fell victim to the weather, with the team canceling the game a little before 7:30 Saturday night.
It was suppose to be Military Appreciation Night and Fireworks Night, but because of the weather both were canceled. Fireworks Night will be rescheduled.
Military Appreciation Night and the military in general has taken on added meaning for the Rapids with Army Cadet Teddy Lepcio joining the team for the month of June. Lepcio just finished his freshman season at West Point, pitching for the Black Knights.
Northeastern Football Alliance action from Potsdam featured the Tigers as they hosted the Carthage Revolution.
The Tigers pay tribute to late coach Jim Compeau by having his wife do the coin flip. The Revolution presented her with a bouquet of flowers.
In the1st quarter, Manuel Grice hits Zach Todd for a 23 yard touchdown. Score: 6-0 Carthage.
After a Tigers safety makes it 6-2, Jeramiah Calhoun picks up a loose ball and goes 74 yards for the score, 12-2 Carthage. Then it was Grice to Todd for the touchdown. Score:18-2 Revolution.
Zach Raymond calls his own number and takes it in for the score, cutting the Carthage lead to 18-8. But on the ensuing kickoff, Dallas Wade finds daylight and goes 79 yards for the touchdown, 24-8 Revolution.
Raekwon Davison takes it in himself as Carthage beats North Country 32-8.
