CARTHAGE, N.Y. (WWNY) - People were finding a way to relieve stress as Carthage Area Hospital held its 5th annual Community Health Fair Saturday at Carthage Recreation Park.
Representatives from hospital departments were there to offer health tips, screenings and talk about insurance. The Behavioral Health staff offered a hands on way to get rid of stress.
“We are making stress putty. Stress putty is just a simple coping skill. You know, that you are feeling anxious, feeling distressed, kind of distracted, can get you back in the moment, in the here and now,” explained Thea Durant, a Licensed Medical Health Counselor at Carthage Area Hospital.
The hospital’s next outreach event is August 22nd. The theme is a baby shower where expecting parents or people planning for a child can stop by the hospital and ask questions.
