Saturday Sports: Watertown Rapids hit the road for crucial 4 game road trip

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) -The Watertown Rapids losing streak extended to 4 games Friday night at the Alex Duffy Fairgrounds as they dropped a 7-5 decision to Elmira.

The Rapids fell to 7-7 on the season and dropped 2 games behind the Geneva Red Wings and Utica Blue Sox for first place in the PGCBL West Division.

The team hit the road Saturday night for a crucial 4 game road trip to Amsterdam, Utica for a doubleheader, and Geneva.

It’s a road trip Rapids Manager Michael Wood says may be just what the doctor ordered for his team. Though in Saturday’s game, Amsterdam beat the Rapids 8-3. The Rapids record falling to 7-8 on the season.
