WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - Watertown's Herb Philipson's store is closed and the chain's owner says it's temporary.

Guy Viti, a longtime employee who bought the sporting goods store chain in March 2018, says he "trying to rebuild the company again."

Viti told 7News he's closing the Watertown store for now to focus the inventory on his other four stores.

Viti filed for bancruptcy protection in October and says now he's working to get out of Chapter 11.

Viti says he hopes to reopen the Watertown store by fall and hopes it can be "stronger and better than ever."

For now, he said customers can still return items and can also shop online.

Viti says he’s closed two stores permanently, including one in Oswego.
