NEW BREMEN, N.Y. (WWNY) - The Mud Racing Association is making a stop this weekend at Adirondack International Speedway in New Bremen for the MRA Northeast Nationals.
It's a weekend-long event that brings some of the best competitors from the U.S. and Canada to the track.
Event promoter Troy Liebi says that most people’s perception of mud racing isn't what fans will see this weekend.
“Trucks with big tires going through big mud pits — that’s not what we do anymore — there’s cars here this weekend making over 4,000 horsepower,” he said.
“We’ll be exceeding speeds of over 100 miles an hour in just 200 feet in two seconds,” he added.
Racing is from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday and concludes on Sunday with races beginning at 11 a.m.
