After 60 years, Wratten’s RVs gets new owner
TOWN OF ADAMS, N.Y. (WWNY) - A family-owned business in the town of Adams will have a new owner for the first time in its 60 year history.
Jim Wratten will be handing off ownership of Wratten’s RVs to David Hodge.
Wratten says he wants to retire after working in the company since childhood.
He looked to sell the business to someone from the outside when no one in the family showed interested in taking over.
It’s an opportunity Hodge says doesn’t come around often.
“To own an establishment that’s been around for 60 years is just unheard of, and it’s very very...It’s an honor,” said Hodge.
“I know it’s being turned over to a very honest and fun guy. I think my customers will enjoy him,” said Wratten.
Wratten has run the company by himself since 2013.
He will stay on as owner for two years to help Hodge transition into the role.
Hodge says the company’s name will stay the same after he fully takes over.
