WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - After a warm and mostly cloudy day today we will clear out tonight.
Starting tomorrow out highs will be close to 90 with the dew points reaching the low to mid 70s. This means our heat index values will be 95 to 100 degrees tomorrow and Saturday. Because of this the National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Jefferson, Lewis, and St Lawrence counties starting tomorrow at noon and lasting until Saturday at 6pm.
Along with the oppressive heat also comes the chance for some showers and storms in the afternoon to evening hours for the next three days. The severe weather potential isn’t that great, but there is a chance for a severe thunderstorm over the next two days.
The good news with the forecast is the heat won’t last long. Sunday we will start to cool down and next week we will actually have below average temperatures.
