Friday Sports: Rapids on the road; lose in doubleheader

BOONVILLE, N.Y. (WWNY) - The Watertown Rapids were on the road Friday night traveling to Boonville to face the Adirondack Trailblazers in a PGCBL West Division doubleheader.

In game one, top of the 2nd, the score was 1-0 Adirondack when Tony Socci went deep with a solo home run to right center, tying the game at 1.

At the bottom of the 2nd, Adirondack regains the lead as Andy Hague lofts a sacrafice fly to right field. Alec Burns tags and scores from 3rd. Score: 2-1 Trailblazers after 2 innings.

At the bottom of the 4th, the game tied at 2, Andy Hague with a 2 run home run to right field. The Trailblazers go on top 4-2. Still in the 4th, Chris Rotundo crosses on a pass ball. Score: 5-2 Adirondack. Adirondack goes on to beat the Rapids 7-4.

In the second game, Adirondack wins with a final score of 8-2. The Rapids will be looking for redemption against the Trailblazers Saturday at the Alex Duffy Fairgrounds.
