WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - A downtown Watertown building will have a new owner.
The former Goodyear tire store on Court Street was auctioned off Tuesday morning.
The winning bidder was Billy Caprara, who plans to use the building to condition new and used vehicles before they go on sale at FX Caprara Honda on outer Bradley Street.
“The proximity to the Honda store is very close, so we figured it would be a short drive over to get the cars cleaned,” he said. “We’re running out of space there already, after two years, we’re running out of space with increased sales, so this’ll absolutely put a good band aid on what we need right now.”
He says it won't take much to get the building in operation and that the company will add 10 to 15 new employees to work in it.
Caprara’s winning bid was $125,000, plus commission.
