Changes could quicken pace of high school football

Section 3 football changes

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - High school football games may speed up a little this season.

Sandy Creek head football coach Mike Stevens is on the Section 3 football committee.

He filled Mel Busler in on some changes to the pace of play.

The high school football season begins officially after Labor Day, a change from when past seasons opened up on Labor Day weekend.

A major rule change involves the pace of play, including when the play clock begins between plays on the field and as far as who controls the clock.

Stevens explains in more detail in the video,

High school football practice begins in four weeks.
