Home game loss means no playoffs for Watertown Rapids

Rapids' last home game

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - The Watertown Rapids had a plan: they needed to win all three games in their regular season schedule to clinch a playoff berth in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League's West Division.

That plan fell apart at their last home game Tuesday night.

The Rapids fell to the Utica Blue Sox 9-6.

The loss puts the Rapids two-and-a-half games back from a playoff berth.

That means even if they win both games in a doubleheader at Geneva Wednesday night, they'll still be half a game short.
