TOWN OF PAMELIA, N.Y. (WWNY) - This may not be your typical summer camp.
Dozens of kids are spending the rest of this week at Redemption Lutheran Church’s art camp in the town of Pamelia.
They’re making things like sculptures and learning about the sculptors who inspired the designs.
Reverend Aaron Goetzinger says the church has been holding an art camp for five years because it’s often one of the first subjects to be cut at schools.
“So we thought there are a lot sports camps, there are a lot of other types of camps, but maybe an art camp specific to children was a way we could serve a particular niche in our area,” he said.
The children’s art will be displayed in a gallery at the church after camp ends.
