12 and 14-year old accused in armed convenience store burglary

NORFOLK, N.Y. (WWNY) - A 12-year-old, from Potsdam, and a 14-year-old, from Massena, are accused of breaking into a convenience store wielding handguns.

State police say the pair broke into the Parkway Express in the town of Norfolk through a drive-through window shortly after 3 a.m. on Saturday.

Troopers say they stole about $1,400 worth of tobacco products and e-cigarette pods.

Police say they had two handguns with them.

They were both charged with third-degree burglary.

The 14 was charged with third-degree burglary, two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and one count of acquiring

The 12 year old was charged with third-degree burglary, unlawful possession of a weapon, and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

They were released with tickets to appear in St. Lawrence County Family Court at a later date.

Their names were not released because of their ages.
