SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WWNY) - New York's Fifth Judicial District has a new administrative judge.
The Hon. James Murphy has been appointed to the job, which entails overseeing trial-level courts in six counties, including Jefferson and Lewis.
Murphy had been acting administrative judge following the passing of his predecessor, Judge Jim Tormey, who died on June 22.
In a press release, court officials praised Murphy for his integrity and fairness.
