WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - Sunday was the final day of fishing in the 2019 Berkley Bassmaster Elite at St. Lawrence River taking place in Waddington, and it would be a classic finish.
Canadian Chris Johnston took the lead into the final day and would weigh in with a final day catch total of 20 pounds 1 ounce.
But the story of the day was Micah Frazier, who started the final day of fishing in 10th place and would need a miracle to vault to the top - which he got.
Fishing near Ogdensburg, Frazier saved the best for last and recorded the biggest single day catch of the tournament with a 25 pound 9 ounce total to take the title by less than a pound over Johnston.
For Frazier, it was his 1st classic title in 53 tournaments.
