WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - There are three different kinds of milk in this dessert.

Chef Chris Manning says it's quick and simple to make in case you're going to a Labor Day weekend cookout or a tailgate party for a sporting event.

It's called Tres Leches Cake and you can see in the video how easy it is to make.

Sponge Cake

- 6 eggs, beaten

- 1 cup sugar

- 1 cup all-purpose flour

- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Beat eggs and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the flour and baking powder. Mix until smooth and pale yellow in color.

Transfer batter to a 9- by 13-inch baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Tres Leches

1 12-ounce can evaporated milk

1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk

1 cup heavy cream

Mix all three milks together. Poke holes or small slits in cake and pour milk mixture over the top in 1/2-cup increments. Allow cake to absorb all the mixture.

Serve slices with whipped cream and fresh berries.
