WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - It's never too soon to start healthy eating habits.
That's why the American Heart Association wants to teach children and their parents how to pack healthier lunches for school.
The Heart Association’s Stacy Spaziani shared some back-to-school nutrition tips on 7 News This Morning. Watch the video for her interview.
She says one in three children are either obese or overweight, which can lead to such adult diseases as high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol, and type 2 diabetes.
Spaziani suggests packing homemade leftovers and making "smart" sandwiches that use whole wheat wraps or pitas.
