Thursday morning sports wrap

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - Two Frontier League girls' soccer teams met in a non-league contest at Watertown High as the Lady Cyclones hosted Lowville.

The Lady Red Raiders took the lead -- and scored the game's only goal -- midway through the first half when Hannah Freeman dented the back of the net.

In the end, it was Lowville, 1, Watertown 0.

South Jefferson's Maci Schultz scored the first-ever goal on the school's new turf field in first half of a Frontier League girls' soccer contest against Carthage.

Schultz scored a hat trick to lead the Lady Spartans to a 5-1 win over the Lady Comets.

In another Frontier League girls soccer contest, it was the Lady Panthers of Belleville Henderson shutting out Alexandria 6-0.

The Potsdam boys' soccer team defeated Norwood-Norfolk 2-1 in the consolation game of the John Jeffers Tournament.

In the title game, Malone defeated Madrid-Waddington 2-1.
