SPCA: playful Chessie & Barktoberfest

SPCA: playful Chessie & Barktoberfest

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - Chessie could use a playmate.

She’s the 2-month-old domestic short hair Jefferson County SPCA operations manager Katelynn Drohan brought with her to the 7 News studio.

As you can see in the video, she's very playful and friendly. She was very interested in anchor Makenzie Piatt's necklace and the hair tie on her wrist.

Chessie will be available for adoption after she's spayed.

Barktoberfest is coming up next month. Some of the proceeds will go to the SPCA.

It's from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 13 at the Garland City Beer Works in Watertown.

You can get $3 drinks during Yappy Hour from noon to 1 p.m.

People who bring a donation of $10 or more are entered to win a Garland City dinner for two.

There’s a dog-friendly patio if you want to bring your best friend.

Adoptable animals will be on hand.

For more information on adopting an animal, volunteering, becoming a member, or donating, call the shelter at 315-782-3260.
