CLAYTON, N.Y. (WWNY) - One worry with Clayton’s $9.3 million roadwork project is the loss of parking.
Signs and cones are up on Riverside Drive, James Street, and Webb Street to indicate one way traffic.
That means many parking spaces are gone for downtown businesses along those streets.
Owners admit they are worried it could mean business will be slow, but understand it's an inconvenience now and the end result will make them happy.
"I think it's going to be so much better for everybody. I think it'll open things up more-so than it is right now and it'll definitely create more tourism and people will have easier access to the locations, so hopefully that will be the course," said Debra Climer, designer at Harper Leigh Florist.
The project is set to finish in spring of 2021.
