Morning Checkup: brain injury support group

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - Samaritan Medical Center has a support group for people who suffer the effects of a brain injury.

Michael Talarico is a member of the brain injury support group. He and speech therapist Danielle Kealy talked about it during Samaritan's Morning Checkup segment on 7 News This Morning.

Talarico was hit by a speeding car in March and was in a coma for two months. He says "this group has really helped me communicate and get the information on my recovery."

He says he had to learn to walk, talk, and eat all over again.

The support group meets from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. the first Wednesday of every month in Samaritan's Carman Conference Room.
