JCC President Stone finalist for job out of state
WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - Jefferson Community College President Dr. Ty Stone is a finalist for a presidency outside of New York state.
Stone sent a memo to the campus community late Thursday afternoon in which she said “I was approached to apply for this position and decided to explore the opportunity further after careful consideration. This decision was not made lightly."
Stone said she informed the college’s board of trustees Wednesday night.
"My service to Jefferson Community College is the highlight of my professional career. Regardless of the outcome of this search, I can assure you that my commitment to this College, our students and our community remains true and steadfast.
“This news may be unsettling and it is not my intention to create uncertainty, but rather to be upfront and transparent" she wrote. "I will continue to work each day to improve our campus for our students and employees.”
Stone is the sixth president of Jefferson Community College, taking over in July, 2017 from Dr. Carol McCoy.
