Man accused of firing rifle at neighbor’s home during fight

TOWN OF ELLISBURG, N.Y. (WWNY) - A 42 year old town of Ellisburg man is accused of firing a rifle at a neighbor’s home during an alcohol-fueled fight with his girlfriend.

Tyler Lyndaker of 6124 Machold Road is being held in the Jefferson County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond.

According to court documents, Lyndaker had a physical altercation with his girlfriend in front of two young children at his home Thursday night. He allegedly fired several rounds from a rifle out the window of his home towards a neighboring house about 400 yards away.

The county sheriff's office said Lyndaker had been drinking alcohol.

According to court documents, Lyndaker illegally possessed assault weapons, fireworks and large capacity ammunition feeding devices.

He's charged with:

-first-degree reckless endangerment

-second-degree harassment

-endangering the welfare of a child

-unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device

-third-degree criminal possession of an assault weapon

-criminal possession of a firearm

-unlawful possession of fireworks

-third-degree criminal possession of a weapon

The documents said Lyndaker had been previously convicted of a crime.
