DEXTER, N.Y. (WWNY) - It’s another Football Friday Night around the north country with plenty of gridiron action. We focus in on Dexter as the General Brown Lions entertained the Red Raiders of Lowville in a Section 3 Class C battle.

It was General Brown with a little defense early as Cory Smith tackles the ball carrier for a loss.

Lowville responded with some defense of it’s own. Chad Bach comes up with an interception for the Red Raiders. That sets up a Chad Bach touchdown pass to Gavin MaCauley. Score: Lowville on top 8-0. Later in the first quarter, it was Bach to MaCauley once again, setting up another Lowville score.

In the second play of the second quarter, Chad Bach scores from a yard out, the 2 point conversion is good, score: 16-0 Red Raiders. Later in the second quarter, it was Bach once again with a53 yard run to paydirt, 24-0 Lowville.

General Brown gets on the board before halftime as Caleb Johnson takes it in from 7 yards out. The Lions add the 2 points. Score: 24-8 Lowville at the half. Getting on the board wasn't enough for the Lions however, as Lowville goes on to win 44-14.

Besides the action in Dexter, there was plenty of other football games involving local teams Friday night.

In Section 3 Class A football from Philadelphia, Indian River hosted Rome Free Academy. In the 1st quarter, the Warriors jump on top when Robert Alexander takes it in on a quarterback keeper. Score: 6-0 Indian River.

R.F.A. ties it up through the air when Keshawn Clark finds Isaha Gamer all alone in the endzone for the touchdown, knotting the score at 6.

On their next possession, Indian River regains the lead when Guillermo Rosario Acosta finds a hole and takes it to the house for the score, 14-6 Warriors. Indian River goes on to beat R.F.A. 63-20.

In Section 3 football from Carthage, the Comets met Utica Proctor. In the 3rd quarter, Proctor was on top 12-0. The Comets get on the scoreboard when quarterback Nick Cavellier called his own number and sneaks in. Score: 12-7 Utica Proctor. That would be the game’s final.

In Section 3 Class B football from Adams, South Jeff hosted Solvay. Solvay takes the early lead and Brock Bagozzi finds a wide open Blaine Franklin for the touchdown, Solvay on top 6-0.

In the 2nd quarter the Bearcats add to their lead. Bagozzi takes it in himself from a yard out. Score: 12-0. Solvay goes on to beat South Jeff 40-14.

In Section 10 football from Watertown High School, the Cyclones met the Canton Golden Bears.

In the 3rd quarter, Connor Ramsey finds a hole and takes it to the house, cutting the Watertown lead to 14-12. The Golden Bears take the lead when Adam Calton plows in from 2 yards out. Score: 20-14 Canton.

Tied at 20, Deante Hall calls his own number and scores. Watertown beats Canton 40-28.

In Section 10 football, St. Lawrence Central hosted O.F.A.

Blake Wright Ashley goes in for the score and Tristan Lovely takes it in on the jet sweep, increasing the Blue Devils lead to 22-0. Then it was Michael Reed to Jackson Jones on a 5 yard scoring pass. O.F.A. beat the Larries 42-7.
