WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - Say goodbye to summer and get ready to lace up your skates.
The ice rink at the Watertown Municipal Arena opened for the season Monday.
Crews put the finishing touches on the rink last week.
Skaters say they couldn't wait to be the first ones on the ice.
“It’s nice because it’s just something where everyone can get together and do. We all meet up and hangout here. If you go to the movies, you spend 30 bucks on tickets and food. You come here, spend $3 and have fun all day,” said Devin McRae, Watertown resident.
The rink is open for public skates seven days a week through mid-April with the exception of hockey practices, tournaments or other events.
