WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - A former Chaumont roofer accused of taking money for work he never completed has taken a plea deal.

In Jefferson County Court Friday, 44 year old Luke Kampnich pleaded guilty to two felony counts of fourth-degree grand larceny.

He was sentenced to time served and a three year conditional discharge.

Troopers said Kampnich was a contractor for Uncle Luke's Roofing in Chaumont.

In May 2018, he was accused of cashing $1,350 worth of checks to replace a roof and window at a camp in the town of Clayton. Police said the work was never completed.

State records show Kampnich went to prison on Christmas Eve 2018 and received a 3 to 9 year sentence for grand larceny and scheme to defraud.
