Saturday: Home heavily damaged in Port Leyden fire
PORT LEYDEN, N.Y. (WWNY) - A home in Port Leyden was heavily damaged Saturday morning after fire broke out.
The fire at 7178 East Main Street was reported just after 8 AM. It appeared to have started in the basement, and the house sustained fire damage to the basement and heavy smoke and water damage throughout the home.
That’s according to a report provided by Lewis County 9-1-1. Port Leyden, Lyons Falls and Turin volunteers all fought the blaze.
There were no injuries.
The cause of the fire is being investigated. The home is owned by Sam Marmon and Hanna Griffin.
