Thursday morning sports wrap

BELLEVILLE, N.Y. (WWNY) - Sackets Harbor got on the board first in a girl’s Frontier League soccer battle against Belleville Henderson Wednesday.

Corrin Martin scored, putting Sackets Harbor up 1-0.

The Lady Panthers tied it up on a Lexi Rogers blast.

The game ended in overtime 3-3.

Other soccer highlights

- A little over 4 minutes into a girls' Frontier League soccer contest against Carthage, Watertown struck on a Tatum Overton goal, making it 1-0. The Lady Cyclones beat the Lady Comets 3-1.

- It was 1-1 in the second half of a girls' Frontier League showdown between Immaculate heart and Indian River. Kai Montgomery made it 2-1 for the Lady Cavaliers with the loose ball in front. IHC beat Indian River 3-1.

- Thousand Islands' Christina Segouin cut General Brown's lead to 2-1 in the seconbd half of another girls' soccer contest. The score stayed the as General Brown beat the Lady Vikings 2-1.

NAC cross country

Potsdam hosted Norwood-Norfolk and Salmon River in boys' Northern Athletic Conference cross country.

Both Potsdam and Norwood-Norfolk entered the meet undefeated.

While Potsdam's Skye Crocker crossed the finish line in first place at 17:49, the Flyers captured the next 10 positions.

Norwood-Norfolk stayed unbeaten, beating Potsdam 20-43 and Salmon River 15-48.

It was Potsdam vs. Norwood-Norfolk and Salmon River in girls' NAC cross country, too.

Again, both the Flyers and Sandstoners entered the meet unbeaten.

Norwood-Norfolk captured the first, third, fifth, and seventh place spots, while Potsdam won the second, fourth, sixth, and eighth spots.

As a result, the Flyers edged Potsdam 25-31 and downed the Shamrocks 16-46.

Potsdam also beat Salmon River 17-39.

Maddie Dinneen won her third NAC meet of the season, finishing at 18:32.

Women’s college volleyball

In four very close sets in, SUNY Potsdam won the first set against SUNY Canton 25-21. The Roos evened the match with a 25-20 win.

Potsdam outlasted Canton 27-25 in set 3, then finished the night with a 25-21 win.

Mickayla Myers led Potsdam with 14 kills and 1 block. Nicole Hansen added five aces, 13 digs, and three assists.
