SPCA: ferrets, Barktoberfest & pet calendar

SPCA: ferrets Jack & Swiper

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - Ferrets Jack and Swiper were this week’s animal guests from the Jefferson County SPCA.

They were very energetic. Swiper, for one, kept diving under operation manager Katelynn Drohan's sweater.

You can see their antics in the video.

It’s best if they’re adopted together.

Barktoberfest is this weekend.

It's from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 13 at the Garland City Beer Works in Watertown.

Yappy Hour is from noon to 1 p.m.

There’s a pet costume contest at 1:30 p.m. and live music from 2 to 4 p.m.

People who bring a donation of $10 or more are entered to win a Garland City dinner for two.

There’s a dog-friendly patio if you want to bring your best friend.

Adoptable animals will be on hand.

The SPCA also has a Top Pet Calendar contest.

A $20 entry fee includes a copy of the calendar. It runs through October 31.

People can vote for their favorite for $1 per vote.

Winners get their pets’ pictures on a billboard.
