WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - It's not often you hear of a county budget containing no tax rate increase - but that's the case in St. Lawrence County.
County Administrator Ruth Doyle presented it to legislators Monday night.
The $253 million spending plan keeps the tax rate the same.
Doyle points out more than $1 million will be spent to improve county roads, leveraging close to $12 million in state and federal money for highways.
In addition, two new county department heads were appointed Monday night.
Jason Pfotenhaur is the new planning director with a salary of $85,051. Matthew Denner was named the new emergency services director at a salary of $67,479.
