SCARBOROUGH, Maine (WWNY) - Hannaford Supermarkets is recalling cheese it says may contain metal fragments.

The Hannaford-brand white American cheese in question would have been purchased between September 8 and October 8.

It includes pre-sliced and freshly sliced cheese sold at the deli counter or in the deli’s “grab and go” section.

Officials with the Scarborough, Maine-based store chain say customers should not eat the cheese.

The cheese can be returned for a full refund.

No illnesses or injuries have been reported.
